Since the spread of COVID-19, all our lives have changed. Economies have paused as the world waits to return to the 'new normal'.
Yet, important services that care for the most vulnerable in society are under more pressure than ever. Charitable organizations, in particular those caring for children, must continue despite these difficult circumstances and diminishing or disappearing donations.
When developing and operating digital health solutions for people with acute and chronic conditions, we come across many wonderful charities. We've long admired the work of Wroclaw Children’s Hospice and Children’s Health Ireland. To support these charities and the great work they do with children and young adults, we've made a donation of €10,000 (45,000zł) to each organization.
The Wrocław Hospice for Children Foundation was established in 2007 to raise funds for running a home hospice for children.
As a home hospice, they help sick children, young adults, and their families in their homes throughout Lower Silesia.
The children and young adults they help are incurably and chronically ill and are under the care of specialists from several days to several years. The hospice gives vital medication, medical equipment, and rehabilitation while their dedicated staff provide comprehensive medical, psychological, and social support.
Donations allow the hospice to purchase expensive equipment and medication, and fund home rehabilitation.
